Abstract
Human rights, environment, development and right to good environmental are
important issues in the context of international human rights and environmental laws
that have been respected since 1990s. These issues are of attention and action both
in separate and coherent perspectives. The importance of the environment to human
life is resulting in a relationship between human rights and a good environment. It also
brings about the emergence of the joint issues among human rights, the environment
and development in the international context and the development of international law
relating to human rights and the environment both in concept, theory and in practices.
It also later made the international proposal regarding legal principles for environmental
protection and sustainable development, including the efforts to establish international
environmental and human rights instruments. This article has tried to survey the existing
and practical results of international instruments related to human rights and
the environment. It has been found that international law, which has cleared links between
human rights and the environment, is still inconclusive. Nevertheless, legal interventions
on human rights and the environment are gradually occurring in certain regions such as
Europe and in many countries around the world. These developments gradually impact to
emphasize the principles of state responsibility for environmental and human rights issues.
