                Summary Report of the 2018 Strong Cities Network Global Summit,

                                                  Abstract

                        The State Government of Victoria, the Commonwealth of Australia and the
               Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) have co-organized the 2018 Strong Cities Network Global

               Summit (SCN), during 10 – 12  July 2018, at Melbourne, Victoria, the Commonwealth of
               Australia, with Mrs. Angkhana Neelapaijit, Commissioner, the National Human Rights Commis-
               sion of Thailand (NHRCT) and Mr. Ekachai Pinkaew, Human Rights Official, the Human Rights

               Assessment and Report  Unit, Bureau of Research and Technical Support, Office of the NHRCT,
               have attended the Summit.
                        There are more than 250 participants from 33 countries worldwide attending
                    th
               the 4  SCN Summit. The Summit is a platform encouraging the global leaders, government
               representatives and policy makers including various practitioners from local areas to share
               information, knowledge, experiences and practices on the making of social cohesion and

               resilience corresponding to the violent extremism in all forms.
                        The main outputs made within the Summit are : (i) the exchange of management
               and operational guidance for dealing with the polarization, hate and violence in both local
               and regional levels ; (ii) the making of learning process with inspirations for the application and

               undertaking of community-centric approaches, including various actions taken corresponding
               to the violent extremism through the strengthening of peer-to-peer networks with sharing
               of expertise ; and (iii) the mainstreaming and reiteration of basic principles on promotion

               and protection of human rights, liberty and human dignities through various operations
               for preventing of violent extremism.
