to increase effectiveness of the status/nationality granting process. Efforts should be made
to expedite the verification of information to identify and separate “G” students from other
students who have already obtained a status. At the same time, there should be measures

to look after the health of the “G” students group. As regards asylum-seekers/refugees, it
is recommended that the process of laying down criteria and operational guidelines under
the Regulation of the Office of the Prime Minister on the Screening of Aliens who Enter
into the Kingdom and are Unable to Return to the Country of Origin, B.E. 2562 (2019) be

expedited so that the Regulation can be put into practice as soon as possible. Another
recommendation given is for Thailand to consider withdrawing its reservation to Article 22
of the CRC, to guarantee that refugee children in Thailand will receive appropriate protection.
And finally, the preparation of SOP for state agencies to follow under the Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) on the Determination of Measures and Alternative Approaches
to Detention of Children in Immigration Detention Centers, B.E. 2562 (2019) should be

expedited and promptly implemented.
