CONSTITUTIONS THAT REFER TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION

In countries enacting new constitutions in the context of

strong domestic reform movements over the law twenty years,
it has become common to include extensive provisions on

human rights and to include çsexual orientationé as a prohibited
ground of discrimination. The constitutions that include a
prohibition on çsexual orientationé discrimination are:

- South Africa, 1994 (interim constitution) and 1997
(final constitution).
