proceed smoothly, but instead provoked a number of legal action
against the group in retaliation.

“The villagers have gone through several prosecutions. When
we face problems, we fight and adjust to the immediate situation. We
are alwasy ready to confront the situation because the truth is the

truth. We come here only to demand our justice, not to bully or cause
trouble to anyone.”

So far, group members have been subjected to various forms
of intimidation. They were trailed by anonymous tough-looking men,
threatened by military officers and received death threats. Female

members were threatened with enforced disappearance. Women
human rights defenders who were subjected to threats include Miss

Waewrin Bua-ngoen, who is being prosecuted in a criminal case. She
had contacted and received full support from the Justice Fund for bail
money and legal aid.

Other group members and supporters such as the advisors of
the network of people who own mineral resources in Thailand and
lawyers who work with the group have all been subjected to

intimidation and trailed by a group of people who claim to work for
the company.
Today, conflicts still persist in the area and Rak Ban Haeng

Conservation Group insists that they will continue to fight until justice
is served.
