An image of massive protestors next to the wall of the
Government House under the torrid sun at noon and at night appeared
before the eyes of all Thais.
This group of people came to resist the Krabi coal-fired power
plant proposal after the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO had
a resolution in favor of the project. The prime minister announced the
meeting’s result by himself. He stated that the project would proceed
according to the Power Development Plan 2015 (PDP2015), which had
undergone a thorough assessment.
The community marched from Krabi where they are based to
claim their rights in front of the government.
Construction of the coal-fired power plant in Krabi consists of 2
parts. The first part is a 870-megawatt coal-fired power plant at Klong
Kanan Sub-district, Nuea Klong District of Krabi Province. The power
